2024 CSA Update

We will NOT be offering a CSA this year.  This was a very difficult decision, but it ultimately came down to the realization that both the soil and the farmer need a year of rest, rejuvenation and catching up on deferred maintenance.  After 15 years of intensive vegetable cultivation, and increasing pest and disease pressures, we’ve decided we need to rethink our approach.  As such, we will be moving towards a no-till system, which in the long term should improve the soil’s ability to hold nutrients, store carbon, and sustainably produce abundant harvests.  By not disturbing the soil annually with tillage we hope to create a more diverse and resilient soil ecosystem.  We hope that taking a year off also helps us break some long-term pest and disease cycles. We will also be experimenting with new plant varieties that may be more appropriate for our rapidly-changing climate.

If you are looking for a CSA share in 2024, check out https://www.communityfarmlandtrust.org/ We are fortunate to have so many great farms in our region

We realize it’s a risky proposition to send our customers to another farm, but we hope you understand and appreciate the bigger picture, and we intend to be back with a CSA program next year.

Here’s a sampling of what you will find by season in your box when we return:

  1. How much is your full share/partial share CSA? Can I get a gift certificate for a share this Christmas for 2021? Do you deliver, or do we pick up? If we pick up, where?
